Meet Amanda - the 'boomerang' employee

“As an Australian, the term ‘Boomerang’ employee’s pretty apt in a number of ways!

“I moved to the UK three years ago in June 2014, following my heart and setting up a base here with my boyfriend. My grandmother was British so a bit of me was always curious about the place.

“I started my UK career in travel sales, but I really found my feet in recruitment and absolutely loved working for ReThink. From my secondment with Citrix through to the day-to-day dealings with my team, it’s been a joy to be a delivery consultant here.

“As with any ambitious person, last year my head was turned and another career opportunity came my way. It was with a very heavy heart that I bid farewell to my ReThink crew and left.

“The enormity of my decision soon became apparent; you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone (Joni Mitchell never lies..!), and I believe never a truer word was spoken!

“I genuinely have a passion for recruitment, but I realised that passion was for the ReThink way of doing things; from our flexible attitude to working to the amazing clients we manage and everything in between. My realisation just a few weeks into my new role meant I came back to ReThink to ask for my old job back – I was delighted when they obliged.

“That’s the thing about this business, it’s inclusive and welcoming and we're a real family. It meant I got to have a short period away but am now back in the arms of my team and doing great things!”
